What GAF Certified means for your roof
GAF — the manufacturer behind Timberline shingles — invites a select group of roofing contractors into its certification program. Certified contractors are authorized to offer the GAF System Plus Limited Warranty, an enhanced manufacturer warranty that covers a complete GAF roofing system rather than the shingles alone.
A manufacturer warranty and a contractor warranty protect against different things. GAF's covers the roofing products. Ours covers the installation. Most roof leaks in the years after a job trace back to installation, which is why standard Walkers Quality Roofing installations carry our own 10-year workmanship warranty no matter which manufacturer warranty applies.

Is Walkers Quality Roofing GAF Certified?+
Yes. Walkers Quality Roofing LLC is a GAF Certified residential roofing contractor (GAF contractor ID 1149762). GAF Certified is one of GAF's three residential contractor tiers. We hold the Certified tier — not Certified Plus or Master Elite.
What does it mean when a roofer is GAF Certified?+
GAF Certified contractors are independent roofing companies that GAF has invited into its certification program. Certified contractors are authorized to offer GAF's System Plus Limited Warranty on qualifying GAF roofing systems. GAF does not employ or supervise certified contractors, and certification doesn't replace checking a contractor's license, insurance, and references.
What is the GAF System Plus Limited Warranty?+
System Plus is GAF's enhanced warranty for a complete GAF roofing system. According to GAF's published warranty comparison, only GAF Certified, Certified Plus, and Master Elite contractors can offer it; it covers the roofing system rather than the shingles alone; and it includes tear-off and disposal costs when necessary. It requires qualifying GAF products and has terms, exclusions, and eligibility rules, so read the warranty documents or ask us to walk through them.
Is GAF Certified the same as GAF Master Elite?+
No. Master Elite is GAF's top contractor tier. Certified Plus and Master Elite contractors can offer the Silver Pledge warranty, and only Master Elite contractors can offer the Golden Pledge warranty. Walkers Quality Roofing is GAF Certified, so we offer the System Plus warranty on qualifying systems, but not Silver Pledge or Golden Pledge.
Does a GAF warranty replace your workmanship warranty?+
No. They are two different warranties from two different companies. GAF's warranties come from the manufacturer and address the roofing products. Our workmanship warranty comes from us and covers mistakes made during installation. Standard Walkers Quality Roofing installations carry our 10-year workmanship warranty whichever manufacturer warranty applies.
Does every roof you install come with a GAF warranty?+
No. A GAF warranty depends on the shingles, the qualifying accessories, and the installation meeting GAF's requirements. Jobs that use Castlebrook shingles (made by Atlas Roofing) fall under that manufacturer's terms rather than GAF's. Which manufacturer warranty applies to your roof is spelled out in your written proposal.
How can I verify a contractor's GAF certification?+
Ask the contractor for their GAF contractor ID and their current certificate, then confirm their status with GAF directly or through the contractor search on gaf.com. Our GAF contractor ID is 1149762.
Contractors enrolled in GAF certification programs are not employees or agents of GAF, and GAF does not control or otherwise supervise these independent businesses. Contractors may receive benefits, such as loyalty rewards points and discounts on marketing tools from GAF for participating in the program and offering GAF enhanced warranties, which require the use of a minimum amount of GAF products.
